Treatment Care LG1 and LG2
Qualification in service groups 1 & 2 (LG1 + LG2).
Care assistants have the opportunity to expand their field of work and take on light medical tasks. Treatment care is a sub-area of home-based as well as inpatient elderly care and nursing. With treatment care qualifications, care assistants can carry out more tasks without completing the three-year vocational training as a qualified nurse. Treatment care includes, among other things, blood pressure measurement, infusions, injections, changing and caring for tracheal cannulas and applying dressings.
The treatment care course is designed as an advanced programme through which care service assistants can gain further qualifications, and which gives those without formal training a fresh entry into the labour market.
Treatment care tasks can be carried out independently after 1 year of professional experience (full-time equivalent) in care and a three-month internship in the field of treatment care.
