Retraining as a warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d)
Warehouse logistics specialists (m/f/d) accept goods of all kinds in logistics centres, industrial companies, freight forwarders and mail order companies and check the quantity and condition of the goods based on the accompanying documents. They organise the unloading, sort the goods and store them properly in pre-planned locations.
They ensure that the goods are stored under optimum conditions and regulate the temperature and humidity, for example.
In outgoing goods, they plan delivery tours and determine the most favourable shipping method.
They compile deliveries, pack the goods and prepare the accompanying documents such as delivery notes or customs declarations.
They also load lorries, containers or railway wagons, operate forklift trucks and secure the freight against slipping or leaking.
In addition, warehouse logistics specialists optimise the internal flow of information, materials and values from procurement to sales.
They research sources of supply, compare offers, order goods and arrange payment. Their tasks also include calculating stock ratios, stocktaking and simple annual financial statements.
